What's the point of KMail if it cannot filter IMAP accounts?? For several reasons I DO want to stick with IMAP, it's just more practical for me. Help? Please? Prettyplease? I think the best reason to not use kmail now, is that it does not filter mails!

I also suspect that filter with long conditions have a tendancy not to work. Use the shortest piece that uniquely defines what you're looking for. And filters don't work as well with IMAP accounts. No IMAP account... I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO grateful for this, and SOOOOOOOO happy to have my mailboxes in order again!

Suggestion on the Junk Mail filter
The way I do it is use pine to check email on an IMAP server. I have filters setup on the mail server to filter my mail from freebsd-* appropriately. Pine then knows how to check Same with sending mail -- if you have an IMAP account, you're off with just an MUA, but need an MTA with a POP3 one. Right or wrong?

New mail indicated, but no new mail
It turns out that the "move folder" action only works when I move incoming mail from one IMAP account to another IMAP account -- not from a POP account to an IMAP account. I am using Netscape 6.2. I hate to answer with "it works here" .. but .. It works here, I have no suggestions as I cannot reproduce the problem.

The new version seems to simply watch traffic on the mail ports and has a filter and pass-thru routine for the traffic. Anyhow, sorry for the run-on-on, here goes: Step One: click on the imap account in your folder list and change the sync setting to headers only (i think you mentioned doing this).

If you have IMAP access to this account, it will be much less problematic. You can read the messages without deleting them. Delete can be done with a filter or manually.
